Sustainable polyester polyols
Polyester polyols based on recycled materials and bio-components form a dedicated product line, primarily used in the production of PIR foam systems for the construction industry. These foams are characterized by excellent insulating properties, contributing to the improvement of buildings’ energy efficiency. In addition, the polyols are also utilized in open- and closed-cell PUR systems, adhesives, elastomers, sealants, resins, and vibration-absorbing products such as bumpers and shock absorber components. The sustainable polyester polyols include the PU Dust line (based on polyurethane dust), PET recyclates, and New Technology (based on side streams).
Polyester polyols with the addition of recycled materials include:
- polyols obtained from the decomposition of polyurethane dust,
- rPET, which is poly(ethylene terephthalate) extracted from plastic bottles, among other things,
- polyols recovered from the byproduct stream from other chemical processes.
