Polyester Polyols for PIR/PUR Foam

Polyester polyols for polyurethane foam production are high-quality products with proven performance. For nearly 20 years, we have been selling Poland-made polyols used to produce single- or multi-component PIR/PUR foam.

The key application of polyester polyols is in the manufacturing of spray foam with excellent properties, which depend on the quality of the components used. By mixing the appropriate proportions, one of three types of foam can be obtained: spray foam – a modern thermal insulation for buildings; OCF – mounting foam used for window frames, sealing, and filling empty spaces; and block foam – sprayed in large blocks, from which smaller elements are cut for insulation purposes.

The polyester polyols in our portfolio have a significant impact on the properties of the final products. Particular attention is drawn to the high mechanical resistance of the products resulting from the reaction.

Polyester polyols for spray foam

Polyester polyols are the base for the production of spray polyurethane foam. The quality of the components involved in the reaction forming urethane bonds translates into the grade of the final product, which is PUR foam.

Parameter Value
Hydroxyl number 295 – 450 [mgKOH/g]
Acid number max. 1,5 mgKOH/g]
Viscosity at 25°C Od 1500 do 9000 [mPas]
Content of bio-based and recycled materials min. 60%

Our offering includes technologically advanced polyols containing additives in the form of recycled PET and plant-based oils. Bio-based and recycled raw materials can make up more than 60% of all polyols.

The presence of recycled materials and plant-based additives contributes not only to reducing the company’s carbon footprint but also significantly enhances the quality of the products. Thanks to these additives, we have further improved the fire reaction class of the spray foam.

Spray foam is one of the most advanced materials used for thermal insulation in construction. Applied on-site, PUR foam provides effective insulation for roofs, attics, ceilings, facades, walls, floors, and foundations for many years.

Polyester polyols for OCF foam

Polyester polyols used in the production of single-component OCF foam represent a distinct group of chemical substances. These are carefully tested and repeatedly verified intermediates that have been well-received by our customers—leading European manufacturers of OCF foams—for many years.

Parameter Value
Hydroxyl number 250 – 330 [mgKOH/g]
Acid number max. 3,0 mgKOH/g]
Viscosity at 25°C Od 2000 do 4500 [mPas]
Water content, not more than 0,1%

The commonly used mounting foam in construction is produced from a standard line of polyester polyols. Their quality is confirmed by the fact that for many years, they have formed the basis of formulations for every universal OCF foam. We adjust the polyols used in the production of mounting foam to meet customer needs by appropriately regulating their reactivity.

The intermediates used to produce OCF foam are regularly checked by both our technologists and by customers and end-users, who have been relying on our technology in products from well-known brands for nearly 20 years.

The so-called mounting foam has a much wider range of applications than just window frame installation. It is also a sealing and filling material for gaps and empty spaces.

Polyester polyols for block foam

The polyester polyols produced in our reactors are also used in the spraying of block foam. Precise elements used for insulation are cut from this foam.

Parameter Value
Hydroxyl number 295 – 450 [mgKOH/g]
Acid number max. 1,5 mgKOH/g]
Viscosity at 25°C Od 1500 do 9000 [mPas]
Content of bio-based and recycled materials min. 60%

Our polyols are high-quality intermediates, and their quality is regularly tested at every stage of production. Our technologists use verified ingredients to prepare a polymer mixture according to the customer’s formulation.

The offer of polyester polyols primarily includes base products, which are proven to be effective and have been confirmed multiple times. At the request of our customers, we can prepare a mixture with reactivity tailored to the production line.

Block foam is a modified version of spray polyurethane foam. Precise shapes with a wide range of applications are cut from it. These include insulation elements for pipes and shock-absorbing protection during transport.

Product Technologist

In our portfolio, we have both premium quality polyester polyols—allowing for very low thermal conductivity coefficients of polyurethane foam, high viscosity of the emulsion, and excellent pentane retention during the mixing stage—as well as budget products.

Additionally, we are continually developing the PT product line, which enables higher fire resistance of polyurethane foam.
