About us

The origins of our group date back to 1982, when we first ventured into the food and beverage industry, focusing on the production of carbonated drinks. This was the moment that sparked the growth of our group of companies, which today operate dynamically across various industries.

One of these companies is Purinova, specializing in the polyester polyols and polyurethanes sector, successfully continuing our tradition of innovation and quality.

The relationships established during that period still play a key role in the development of our company and our cooperation with others.

From 1991 to 1993, the first company in our group was established, focusing on the wholesale distribution of chemical reagents. We primarily directed our offerings to laboratories and hospitals, providing them with high-quality chemical solutions that quickly became essential for their operations. This strategic step marked the beginning of the development of our group of companies, including Purinova, which today succeeds in the polyester polyol and polyurethane industry.

The year 1996 marked a period of dynamic growth for our organization, thanks to our active participation in numerous international trade shows. These events were crucial for establishing our first collaborations and gaining valuable contacts.

At that time, access to information was challenging; the only sources were books and industry trade fairs. Despite these challenges, we actively sought opportunities at international events, which yielded fruitful results and laid the foundation for our company’s future success.

The late Mr. Wacław Korzeniowski’s greatest achievement was developing and patenting a method for producing polyols using a by-product stream. This was a particularly significant accomplishment, as circular economy was not as widely recognized at that time as it is today.

Initially, we outsourced polyol production to the ZACHEM plants in Bydgoszcz, which allowed us to efficiently carry out our innovative projects. Thanks to this collaboration and the visionary ideas of the late Mr. Korzeniowski, our company was able to grow in line with the principles of sustainable development, ahead of its time.

Shortly after ZACHEM in Bydgoszcz shut down a key production area that was critical to us due to low profitability, we made an important decision. On December 13, 2006, we established the company PURINOVA to secure our future and continue our operations.

On February 7, 2007, we executed our plan by purchasing the necessary production area from ZACHEM and taking over 16 employees. This strategic decision not only allowed us to maintain production continuity but also ensured the stability of our company and the team on which we base our growth.

One of the first UTECH trade shows proved to be a significant impetus for the development of Purinova. This opportunity allowed us to showcase our operations and innovative products utilizing by-product streams. The trade show served not only as a platform to promote our solutions but also as a starting point for establishing a partnership with a key client.

This important event significantly contributed to the further growth of our company and strengthened its position in the market.

In 2016, Purinova joined the Polish Association of Producers and Processors of Polyurethane and PIR Insulations, known as SIPUR. This organization, registered in May 2009, has represented the interests of its members since its inception and actively promotes polyurethane insulation. SIPUR disseminates the benefits of thermal insulation, particularly emphasizing PUR and PIR foams, striving to secure a market position that reflects their high quality.

In 2016, we established the American branch of our company. Located in Chicago, the distribution center focuses on the sale of polyester polyols, polyurethane systems, and products from Cortex Chemicals. Purinova LLC continuously supplies high-quality raw materials and products in the shortest possible time. The excellent quality of our solutions has led to the establishment of numerous strategic partnerships on the American continent, as well as an expansion into new markets.

The close collaboration between our Polish and foreign distribution centers has provided us with a unique experience in creating a supply chain based on intermodal transport.

In 2017, in response to the growing demand for home insulation and modern architectural solutions, we launched a new brand – PURIOS. The company quickly gained a reputation as a leader in home insulation, insulating thousands of buildings annually across Europe.

PURIOS has become a symbol of quality in the construction industry.

In 2021, Purinova opened a new, modern office in Bydgoszcz. This two-story space, fully adapted to the current needs of the company, marks a new stage in the development of our organization. The new office has allowed for increased hiring and the organization of interdisciplinary meetings, supporting the further growth of our teams.

In August 2021, Purinova established the Sustainability Department by hiring a Sustainability Specialist. Since then, the company has embarked on intensive efforts to protect the environment, including calculating the carbon footprints of polyester polyols to minimize their impact on the surroundings.

Purinova, a recognized producer of polyester polyols and polyurethane systems for industry, is proudly expanding into a new product range—polyurethane adhesives—thanks to its strong know-how.

As part of our development, we are introducing polyurethane adhesives designed for creating recreational surfaces using SBR and EPDM granules, which opens up new possibilities in the design and construction of sports facilities and playgrounds. Our products are also an ideal solution for the wood industry, enabling effective bonding of wood and composite panels.

In 2023, Purinova began a partnership with ENERIS Proeco to implement the supply of eco-friendly heat. As part of this agreement, a heat pipeline approximately 1.5 km long was constructed, linking the ENERIS Proeco facility with our production plant. This pipeline delivers steam at temperatures ranging from 175 to 185 °C and a working pressure of 0.9 to 1 MPa, allowing for the continuous supply of sustainable energy throughout the year, 365 days a year.

We continuously invest in the development of our company by expanding our product portfolio and modernizing production. Thanks to these efforts, we have observed a steady increase in efficiency year after year.

Purinova’s presence in numerous foreign markets allows us to proudly call ourselves an international company, while still being 100% based on Polish capital. Our global presence and domestic roots form the foundation of our success and future growth.

For over 15 years, starting with our first UTECH trade show, we have actively participated in this key industry event, enabling us to continuously track global trends and build relationships with partners from around the world. This has become an integral part of our growth strategy, allowing us to expand our operations based on the latest technologies and market needs.
